Trevor Gillis shot a six-over-par 78 to lead the University of Michigan-Dearborn men's golf team at the Cornerstone Fall Invite on Monday, Oct. 12.

The Wolverines posted a team score of 336 on the par-72, 6,800-yard Thousand Oaks Golf Club course in Grand Rapids. That placed UM-Dearborn 11th in the field, according to UM-Dearborn athletics.

Gillis, a junior, tied for 16th individually. Senior Tyler Toth carded an 83 to tie for 40th, junior Joey Robinson shot 86 (tied for 59th) and freshman Alex Faryniarz finished at 89 (tied for 68th).

Calvin University won the team title with a 302. Host Cornerstone University finished second at 304, and Lawrence Technological University placed third at 308.

Calvin's Ford Erickson earned medalist honors with a three-under-par 69, the only sub-par round in the field. Cornerstone's Emmitt Baas, Grand Rapids Community College's Corralis Delaney and Aquinas College's Austin Pitsch tied for second individually at two-over-par 74.

The result continues a difficult fall stretch for the Wolverines. UM-Dearborn finished ninth at the WHAC Fall Preview at Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta earlier this fall, posting a three-round team score of 984. The team also shot 663 over two days to place last in an 11-team field at the Irish Hills Tournament at Tecumseh Golf Club in September.

Gillis’ 78 at the Cornerstone Fall Invite marked a turnaround from the WHAC Fall Preview, where he tied for 39th at 251. Robinson had paced the team at that event, finishing 15th overall with a three-round 230.

The Cornerstone Fall Invite was the last fall tournament listed on UM-Dearborn's schedule as of Tuesday, Oct. 13. No spring 2027 events were listed.
