Dearborn Divine Child will take on Jackson Lumen Christi at Ford Field on Saturday, Oct. 24, in a Prep Bowl LIV showcase matching two defending MHSAA state champions.

The 4:30 p.m. game pits the Falcons, who won the Division 4 title in November 2025, against Lumen Christi, the 2025 Division 6 champion. The Catholic High School League (CHSL) announced the full Prep Bowl schedule as part of the league's centennial celebration, marking 100 years since its 1926 founding.

Divine Child was unbeaten through its Oct. 9 game.

The Falcons were 7-0 overall and 2-0 in Catholic-AA play through Oct. 9, according to MaxPreps, having outscored opponents 235-70. Lumen Christi was 6-1 overall and 2-0 in league play through the same date, with 262 points scored and 140 allowed, according to its MaxPreps schedule page. The Titans' lone loss through Oct. 9 came Sept. 25 against Central Catholic, 49-7.

The Falcons' 2025 championship run ended a 40-year title drought. A December 2025 blog post recapping the championship season quoted head coach Chris Laney describing how his players carried "a chip on their shoulder" throughout the postseason. Divine Child beat Hudsonville Unity Christian 23-22 in the Division 4 final at Ford Field, the same venue where the Falcons will play in the Prep Bowl.

The Divine Child Marching Band will perform at halftime of the showcase game. The halftime program will also recognize the Scholastic All-Catholic Class of 2027.

After the game, the CHSL plans to introduce its 100 Greatest Male Athletes and 100 Greatest Female Athletes as part of the centennial celebration. The honorees were selected based on their accomplishments at the collegiate and/or professional levels, according to the league.

Prep Bowl LIV features five football games, including two Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) championship contests and three high school games, plus two CYO exhibition games. The Cardinal Championship starts at 1:30 p.m., and the evening showcase at 7:30 p.m. features Birmingham Brother Rice against Novi Detroit Catholic Central. Gates open at 7:15 a.m., with the high school opening ceremony and educator awards beginning at 12:45 p.m.

Ford Field enforces a clear bag policy. Clear bags measuring no more than 12 by 6 by 12 inches and one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags are permitted, subject to inspection.

Divine Child is scheduled to visit De La Salle Collegiate on Saturday, Oct. 17, before the Prep Bowl matchup the following week.
