Dearborn Public Library cardholders have free access to online courses in business, technology, design and personal development through Gale Presents: Udemy, according to the city’s announcement.
The platform offers on-demand video courses across 75 categories, the city says. Cardholders can contact the library for help getting started.
Library Director Betty Adams said the partnership is about removing barriers to education and skills training for Dearborn residents.
“We know the importance of education and skill training in forming pathways to opportunity … We’re proud to offer this high-level and comprehensive resource,” Adams said in the announcement.
What’s available
Categories span computing, data science, finance and accounting, marketing, office productivity, leadership and management, IT operations, human resources, project management and sales. New courses are added weekly, according to the city.
Video lectures include subtitles and/or transcripts. Quizzes, practice tests and assignments supplement the video content. Users who finish a course can download a certificate of completion.
