Dearborn residents who need in-person services at the Administrative Center on Thursday, Oct. 15 or Friday, Oct. 16 will need to use available online services or call for assistance.
The Administrative Center at 16901 Michigan Ave. will be closed both days for a road resurfacing project outside the building's entrances.
The City of Dearborn posted an alert about the closure Monday, Oct. 12. The building is expected to reopen Monday, Oct. 19, weather permitting. City officials said the public will be alerted immediately if the schedule changes.
Residents who would normally visit the Administrative Center for permits, applications or other transactions have two options during the closure. The city's Resident Services team will take calls from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 311 or 313-943-2150. Residents and businesses can also handle transactions, applications and other requests around the clock through the city's online services portal.
Ballot drop boxes stay open
With the Nov. 3 general election ahead, the city said all ballot drop boxes will remain accessible during construction. The City Clerk drop box at the Administrative Center will stay open, though voters should expect an alternate route to reach it while road work is underway.
Voters can also use five neighborhood drop boxes at these locations:
- Crowley Park
- Ford Field Tennis Courts
- Levagood Park
- Lapeer Park
- Hemlock Park
The City of Dearborn maintains six secure drop boxes across the city. All are monitored by video surveillance and emptied daily during each election cycle, according to the city's voting and elections page.

Early voting runs Saturday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 1 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, according to the city’s election information.
