Plymouth native Ella Dziobak became the first swimmer in Divine Child history to receive All-America honors, the school’s athletics department announced Monday, Oct. 19, on X.

Dziobak, a 2026 graduate now listed as a Purdue University freshman, received the recognition last summer. The National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association’s 2025-26 All-America list ranks her 98th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:56.20.

The recognition follows five individual state championships. Dziobak won four consecutive MHSAA Lower Peninsula Division 3 titles in the 500 freestyle and added the 200 freestyle championship as a senior, according to MHSAA’s championship recap.

At the November 2025 finals, she won the 200 in 1:51.10, more than three seconds ahead of the runner-up. She finished the 500 in 4:56.20, winning by more than 14 seconds.

Dziobak swam varsity all four years for Divine Child and trained year-round with Drop Aquatics, according to SwimSwam’s February recruiting report. Her events included distance freestyle, butterfly and individual medley.

A two-time Winter Juniors qualifier, she recorded personal bests at the 2024 meet in the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:06.05) and 200-yard butterfly (2:03.98), SwimSwam reported.

At the 2025 Speedo Sectionals in Columbus, contested in a long-course pool measured in meters, she placed third in the 400 IM (4:59.57), sixth in the 400 freestyle (4:24.15), seventh in the 800 freestyle (9:07.25) and eighth in the 1,500 freestyle (17:54.04). SwimSwam reported personal bests in all but the 1,500.

She committed to Purdue during her senior year.

“I’m beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Purdue University!” she wrote in an email to SwimSwam.

Purdue’s official roster lists Plymouth as her hometown, freestyle and IM as her events, and biomedical health sciences as her major.

The Boilermakers compete in the Big Ten Conference and finished eighth of 14 teams at the 2026 conference championships.

In its Feb. 22 recruiting report, SwimSwam projected Dziobak to rank second on Purdue’s 2026-27 depth chart in the 400 IM, fourth in the 1,650 freestyle, sixth in the 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle, and eighth in the 200 freestyle. Those figures were preseason projections.
