Dearborn residents can cast ballots starting Saturday, Oct. 24, at Studio A inside the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.

Early voting runs daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 1, according to an announcement from the city. The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3.

City Clerk George Darany said in the announcement that he hopes the early voting option will encourage more eligible residents to register and participate in city elections.

Voters who prefer absentee ballots can request one online at Michigan.gov/Vote, by mail or in person at the Clerk's Office. According to state guidance, online applications close at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, and mailed applications must reach the clerk by that time. Voters already registered at their current address can request a ballot in person until 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2.

Absentee ballot applications are available in Arabic, and all Dearborn voters can cast ballots in English or Arabic, according to the city's voter information page.

Residents who have not registered can still do so in person at the Clerk's Office, 16901 Michigan Ave., through 8 p.m. on Nov. 3. Proof of residency is required.

Completed absentee ballots must reach the clerk’s office or an official city drop box by 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, with a separate deadline for qualifying military and overseas ballots.

On Election Day, polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters must go to their assigned polling place, which they can verify at Michigan.gov/Vote.

The Clerk's Office is also recruiting election workers, according to the city announcement.

Residents can reach the Clerk's Office at 313-943-2010 or [email protected] for questions about voting, absentee ballots or election worker positions.
